Interlibrary Card Guidelines

  • In order to share resources and benefits between libraries, The National Tsing Hua Library (hereinafter referred to as the "library") establishes interlibrary card exchange program in tandem with other libraries. This guideline is specially revised by the National Tsing Hua Library for this purpose.
  • Those who exchange interlibrary cards with the Library has to sign a mutual interlibrary card agreement. The agreement states the rights and obligations of both sides and is in effect for two years. When the agreement is due, both sides can assess the exchange program and renew the agreement.
  • To prioritize the interests of the readers of National Tsing Hua University, the amount of interlibrary cards will be determined by the collections and demands of both libraries. The default amount is ten interlibrary cards.
  • Applicants need to be reviewed by the library administrative committee, and the verification conditions are as follows:
    1. Applicants need to be one of the following:
      • University Libraries recognized by the Ministry of Education
      • Government organization libraries or Non-profit research/educational libraries in the Hsinchu/Miaoli area
      • Registered public or private special libraries
    2. Collections need to be one of the following:
      • At least 30,000 or above in quantity
      • Include special or valuable collections that meets National Tsing Hua University research demands
    3. Catalog Search:
      Applicant has to provide online or offline(paper-based) catalog search.
  • Those who are in possession of the National Tsing Hua University interlibrary card have access to the following services:
    1. Borrowing or reading in the National Tsing Hua University Main Library and branches
    2. Borrowing and reading privileges are based on the "National Tsing Hua University Library Rules for Circulation Services".
