Guidelines for Individual Study Room Usage

  • All faculty members, short-term visiting scholars, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, students of the post-baccalaureate medicine, and undergraduate students in the fourth year or higher at this university are eligible to reserve Individual Study Rooms under these guidelines.
  • The Main Library, and the Humanities Branch Individual Study Rooms can be self-reserved through the iBooking System:

    Important Notes
    1. Each user may reserve up to 2 time slots for "By Day" reservations; for "By Hour" reservations, the total reserved time may not exceed 32 hours. Per valid ID card may only be used to reserve one type of space.
    2. Patrons must remove all personal belongings by the end of the reservation period. The library will remove items left behind and is not responsible for their safekeeping.
    3. Patrons that have reserved through the iBooking System and failed to activate their session up to 3 times, all space usage and reservation privileges will be suspended for 30 days.
  • Patrons must abide by the following regulations:
    • Individual Study Rooms may only be used by the reserving user. No additional persons are permitted.
    • Patrons must use the specific room reserved at the designated time. Rooms cannot be exchanged or transferred. Violators will be suspended and have their reservations cancelled.
    • Patrons of the Individual Study Room must borrow a book before bringing the library book inside the room.
    • The library will not take responsibility for personal belongings stored in the study rooms.
    • The electronic products plugged in inside the rooms must be pulled out when leaving, especially at library closing time.
    • Patrons must abide by library regulations on all respects. Violations will be handled according to the "NTHU Library Violation Handling Guideline."
  • Library staff are allowed to enter the study rooms during closed hours to perform cleaning, maintenance, and security purposes.
