Research Performance Analysis Service

Academic research is developing more diversified recently, more applied on the indicators of research impact, for example, in university rankings, project applications, evaluations, etc. The NTHU Library provides a service that the librarian will use database analysis tools to analyze research publications based on the requirement. The aim of the service is to assist academic units and researchers in getting the picture of the research performance and apply for awards, projects, and evaluations.

Target Users

Academic and research units: the director or secretary of the units fills out the application, and then the librarian will output the data, including indicators and research performance, based on the authorized publication list or open information.

How to Apply

The applicant fills out Online Application, and the librarian will reply with the final submission date based on the order of application, the number of cases, the items of requirements, etc. Each case is estimated to take 20 working days at most.

About the Service

  • Source Database: InCites (WOS, ESI, JCR), SciVal (Scopus), TCI-HSS, Ei Compendex
  • Document Type: Based on the publications that can be searched from the source database. If the publication isn’t indexed in the database, no data with indicators can be provided.
  • Publication Year Range: Including the current year, 3 years, 5years, 10 years at most.
  • Type of Usage:
    1. Data with Specific Indicators
The applicant should describe the purpose of the application, such as applying for projects or awards. Additionally, the applicant should provide relevant regulations for reference and the publication list, select the indicators, and inform the deadline or expected submission date.
      • Frequency for Application: Submit the application whenever you need the data with specific indicators.
      • Output File: Excel
    2. Regularly Evaluation Report
The applicant should describe the purpose of the application, such as tracking research performance, discovering research areas, or conducting benchmarking analysis etc. Additionally, the applicant should provide the publication list, select the indicators, and inform the expected submission date. The librarian will contact you to confirm the requirements in the given month.
      • Frequency for Application: Every applicant can submit ONE application per year.
      • Output File: PDF
  • Type of Analysis: Based on the different purposes of usage, the service provides the following six types of analysis. The applicant can combine various analyses based on the needs.
