  • Description: NTHU has been a part of the Taiwan Open Course Consortium (TOCC) since 2009, striving to create, with the user-oriented notion in mind, an effective cloud learning system with the purpose of breaking the traditional time barrier and reducing learning gaps. A password is not required to take any class online, allowing users to choose whatever they desire. The curriculum is divided into 3 groups: Engineering, Natural Science, and Humanities and Social Studies, all of which are taught from the basic subjects to more professional fields by teachers awarded with an outstanding teaching award. All of these courses epitomize the most outstanding courses of NTHU. There are currently over 180 NTHU courses available. The platform also provides links that relate to the lecturers, including the lectures he or she has given abroad and the presentations of or commentaries on the lecturers written by the media or academic circle.

NTHU Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

  • Description: Since 2014, NTHU has been actively developing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). MOOCs enable professors to convert on campus courses into flipped classrooms or small private online courses (SPOC). Students are also able to use MOOCs as an auxiliary tool throughout the course period, to discuss and interact with professors and teaching assistants alike through words or virtual discussion rooms. Students of NTHU that pass this course will be awarded with the credits and a certificate. NTHU MOOCs are currently focused on developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses, Internet of Things (IoT) courses, and Financial Technology (FinTech) courses.

Synchronous Distance Learning

  • Description: Synchronous Distance Learning uses the principle of video conferencing to give NTHU students a chance to participate in the courses taught by teachers outside of NTHU while still on campus. NTHU provides distance learning classrooms especially designed for synchronous distance learning courses. Through application, these classrooms may also be used as speech venues or to hold academic events.
