Nanda Branch Closure and Service Adjustments

Dear Readers,

To promote local arts and culture development and facilitate resource-sharing mechanisms, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) is partnering with the Hsinchu City Government. As part of this initiative, the Nanda Branch will be transitioned into the Hsinchu City Public Library Nanda Branch.

The NTHU Nanda Branch will conclude its operations on Friday, July 31, 2026, and will close effective August 1 for relocation. To ensure uninterrupted access to library resources for the faculty, students, and residents of the College of Arts, a Temporary Service Point will open on August 17, 2026, on the 1st floor of the Nanda Campus Administration Building. This service point will offer general inquiries, intra-library loans, University System of Taiwan (UST) library services, and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) pickups.

During the transition and relocation period (August 1–16, 2026), circulation services will be adjusted as follows:

Circulation Service Adjustments

  • Borrowing: Items from the Nanda Branch must be checked out prior to the closure on July 31. All hold requests and checkouts for this branch's collection will be suspended during the relocation.
  • UST & Interlibrary Loans (ILL): UST book requests and ILL pickup services at the Nanda Branch will be suspended. Please select either the Main Library or the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Branch as your alternative pickup location.
  • Renewals: To renew currently checked-out items, please log in to your personal library account via the official library website.

Book Return Locations

  • Main Library: Book drops are available, including two 24-hour external automated book drops.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences(HSS) Branch
  • Nanda Branch::
    • August 1–16: Patrons may use the main entrance book drop box. Boxes are cleared daily, and check-in dates will be backdated accordingly. (Note: Do not place multimedia materials or damaged books in the book drop to prevent further damage.)
    • From August 17 onwards: Please return all items directly to the Temporary Service Point at the Administration Building.

Commencement & Clearance Procedures (Thesis Submission & Library Clearance)

  • Location: 1F, Main Library
  • Service Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–12:00, 13:00–17:00

Library Catalog & Electronic Resources

  • Catalog Search:Nanda Branch items will be temporarily unavailable in the online catalog (OPAC) during the relocation period.
  • E-Resources: Electronic resources (e-books, databases, and e-journals) remain fully accessible. Please log in through the library homepage.
