Floor Guide

  1. Readers are our first priorities. The library has placed rarely used book materials into compact shelves that are closed to access. These materials may be retrieved upon request. The space released will provide a better use of space for other materials that enable a better user experience.
  2. Emphasizes interaction, sharing, and self-learning.
    • Interacting & Sharing - Meeting Point, Idea Hub, Discussion Rooms, and Practice Rooms. Furniture can be moved around to assist group brainstorming.
    • Self-learning - A Reading Area for every floor, Moonlight Study Area, Quiet Reading Area, and Individual Study Rooms. These spaces are suitable for self-study. The computer lab and practice rooms are suitable for both group activities and self-studying.
  3. Balanced between catering to the users’ needs and operating costs, providing readers a 24 hour service:
    • The Moonlight Study Area and the Library are independent of each other. The service times of each follow one another, catering to the users’ needs 24 hours a day.
    • Using IT technology, the library has adapted the Library RFID system, and other smart systems that help manage the air-conditioning and power supply. Wifi is accessible anywhere in the building. Two options are available: NTHU wifi with an account verified by the computer & communication center (for on-campus users) & iTaiwan (requires a mobile number, available to everyone).
