奕園，緣起於沈君山校長與清華「兩不相負」的美好想望，經集結眾人心血打造，為清華首座以公共藝術方式完成的捐建作品，兼具圍棋知識、藝術設計及尊重原始生態三方的理念，讓這座新型態的清華園中園，宛如大隱隱於市的秘境，散發著低調卻獨特的氣質內涵。
為此，清華圖書館策畫「大隱之美—清華奕園記事」校史特展，引領讀者一同回顧奕園興建始末，隱藏在園林背後不為人知的情思連結、細節經營，從而由一個單純真摯的夢開端，匯聚了更多捐建的夢想，讓清華潛藏的文藝能量日積月累，終至復甦興起。神遊意會之間，奕園不同層次之美，將一一近在眼前。
The Go Garden was the brainchild of former NTHU president Chun-shan Shen, who mobilized a wide range of resources to create the first piece of public art at NTHU funded entirely by donations. Combining art, ecology, and Go, this tranquil and secluded hideaway is the hidden gem of the NTHU campus.
Organized by the NTHU Library, Hidden Beauty: The Origins of the Go Garden presents a detailed history of this unique work of landscape art, providing visitors with a deep appreciation of its intriguing story.
