National Tsing Hua University Library (hereinafter referred to as “The Library”), for the sake of providing accesss internet, public computers, and personal information equipment, has set the following regulations according to “The Ministry of Education Regulations for the Access to Campus Internet” and “National Tsing Hua University Network Usage Policy”.
The Library's Public Computers need to be accessed with a library card or an internet card (that can be borrowed from the library counter), excluding computers especially for the use of searching library catalog.
The Library is a part of the NTHU WiFi Service range. NTHU patrons may log in with the account and password issued by the Computer & Communication Center. Visiting patrons who want to access the wireless service provided by the Library could follow the instructions to apply the accounts for our wireless service.
The Library's Public Computers and Internet Service are only for the purpose of researching and academic related activities. The following activities are strictly forbidden:
Setting up websites
Any activity that violates Intellectual Property Rights.
Endangering or interfering system security or network communication safety.
Damaging computer software or using the Library’s Public Computers to access pornography websites or play computer games.
Using an unauthorized IP address.
Activities that violate the “National Tsing Hua University Network Usage Policy”.
Patrons bringing computer equipment may not enter the Quiet Reading Area and are required to keep from disturbing the patrons.
Patrons violating library regulations are subject to punishment according to the “National Tsing Hua University Library Violation Handling Guidelines”. If a patron is suspected to have violated the rights of other patrons, the patron will be responsible for any legal liability.
