  • Note for user Account
    • Student, Faculty & Staff: please enter your ID number.
    • Other patrons: please enter the barcode of your ID Card, and skip the " - " in the barcode.
  • Note for password: the password by default is as follows
    • For ROC citizens: Your ROC ID Number with the first letter in caps.
    • For foreign patrons: Choose one of the following
      • Your ARC (Alien Resident Certificate) or Passport number with all capital letters.
      • Last six digits of your Student ID Number + your birthdate (mmdd). (e.g. If your Student ID Number is 106998776, and your birthday is 7/31, the password by default is 9987760731)

  • The Individual Study Rooms need to be checked in on the first day of loan period. In the case of more than three absences within 30 days, the borrowing privileges will be suspended for 30 days.
    The maximum loan period is 14 days and can be divided into two sessions max. Bookings of more than 14 days or more than two sessions are not allowed.
    Once you've reached the 14-day quota, you may not make any further bookings until 1:00 am on the next day after your 14-day session.
    Once you've already booked 2 sessions, you may not make any further bookings until 1:00 am on the next day after your first session ended.

Possible reasons include:

  1. On the first day of the reservation period, you must check in by tapping your card. Accumulating 3 unactivated reservations within 30 days will result in suspension of all space usage and reservation privileges for 30 days.
  2. Each reservation may last up to 14 days. Each user may hold a maximum of 2 active reservation periods at the same time.
    Users who have already reserved 14 days must wait until the reservation ends and may reserve again after 01:00 the next day.
    Users ho have already reserved 2 time periods must wait until the first period ends, and may reserve again after 01:00 the next day.

  • On the first day of a research carrel reservation, you must check in by tapping your card.Failure to do so will result in the space being released and one violation point recorded.
  • According to the Research Carrel Usage Policy:

    If a user fails to use the space for 3 consecutive days or for one-third of the reservation period (excluding closed days), the library may cancel the reservation and release the space. When these conditions are met, the system automatically sends a "Research Carrel Multiple Days of No Show" notification.

If a reserved space is not checked in within the required time, the system will automatically release the space and record violation points. Violation points may also be issued for breaches of space usage regulations, in accordance with the library's violation handling guidelines.

Reminder (Night Reading Area): If you reserve two consecutive time slots, you must check in again within 15 minutes after the second time slot begins by tapping your card at the entrance gate. Confirm that your reservation information appears on the gate display before entering.

Possible reasons include:

  • Someone may have mistakenly used your library account or ID to make a reservation.
  • You may have previously helped another user reserve a room, and the system recorded the reservation under your account.
  • The system may have sent a delayed or duplicate notification even though no valid reservation exists.

Please log in to the library's Room/Space Reservation System to verify whether there is an active reservation under your account. If the reservation was not made by you, contact the Circulation Desk or Service Counter as soon as possible so staff can assist with verification and cancellation.

  • The rooms have not been checked in within 15 minutes of the reserved time, and the System will release the reserved rooms to others.
  • If you have reserved two sessions for the Moonlight Study Area, it is necessary to check-in at the start of each session and check your reservation details on the screen at the entrance.

For booking a Discussion Room, three valid IDs' are needed. Your ID may be one of them. Successful reservation notice will be sent to three of users without two other permissions.

Discussion Rooms and Group Viewing Rooms requires three cards to open.

If you leave for more than 15 minutes when using Discussion Rooms, Presentation Practice Rooms, Group Viewing Rooms , ComputerLab, Language Learning Rooms or Viewing Seats, the system will release spaces to others.

However, temporary leave of up to 30 minutes is allowed for Moonlight Study area, and 60 minutes during dining time.

Aside from Individual Study Rooms, all spaces will be automatically released once the maximum leave time has expired.
