Retrieve items in the Compact Stack

  1. For the betterment of library environment and collection capacity, the following collections have been moved to the Compact Stack:
    • Master and doctoral theses before 2009
    • Bound periodicals
    • Seldom-used items and material accessories
    • Outdated audio/visual materials, i.e. VHS, LD, VCD, OD.
    • Past newspapers
  2. Access to the compact stack is not open to patrons viewing and browsing , and should be acquired by:
    • Patrons with reservation rights: Log in the Library WebPAC and make an reservation.
    • Patrons without reservation rights: Look up the required material, and fill out the Access to Compact Stack form online.
    • Access to audio/visual materials can be acquired at the audio/visual service desk by filling out the retrieve forms.
  3. Borrowing Rights
      Patrons with valid library card Off-campus personnel without Library card
    General Materials As stated by the statement of patrons’ privilege. All accessible materials are limited to viewing inside the library only, and should be returned to the front desk before closing time.
    Restricted Materials Bound journals, theses and other restricted materials are only for viewing inside the library, and should be returned to the front desk before closing time.
  4. Online Reservations
    A notification via email will be sent one workday after receiving the application. Upon getting the notification, patrons can visit the library and access the desired material. The reservation is valid for three days only.
