SPIE (International Society for Optics and Photonics) is committed to research in the fields of optics, photonics, electronics, engineering, and more. It publishes more than 10 interdisciplinary research journals. SPIE currently promotes the development of its published journals towards Open Access (OA).
If the author of the article is a member of the SPIE society or a member of the institution who subscribes to the SPIE Digital Library, the author can enjoy a discount on APC. Since NTHU is a subscriber of SPIE Digital Library, SPIE supports NTHU-affiliated researchers who publish their works in SPIE journals and choose OA publishing can enjoy a 25% discount on APC.
Moreover, the articles of SPIE journals adopt the mode of “Article-at-a-time publication”: once the article is accepted and the journal volume is scheduled, the electronic full text of the article will immediately appear on the database of SPIE Digital Library, without waiting for the official release of the journal. This approach instantly enhances the research accessibility and contribute to global academic impact.
APC Discount Requirements
- Qualification: The corresponding author of the journal paper must be affiliated with National Tsinghua University.
- Application conditions
- Submit your article to SPIE full OA (Gold Open Access) journal, or select the option of OA publishing.
- Please use your NTHU email address and choose the institution as National Tsinghua University while submitting your article.
