The library was first established in 1946 along with the foundation of Hsinchu Normal University. It became the NHCUE Library later on as the university changed its title to National Hsinchu University of Education in 2005. After the university merged with National Tsing Hua University on November 1th, 2016, it is now known as the Nanda Branch of National Tsing Hua University Library.
The total amount of collections in the library is around fiveR hundred thousand pieces; among which the categories of education, art, and children's picture books are featured. Another feature is the reading spaces. There are audio-visual rooms, discussion rooms, and a leisure reading room. The "Refreshing Corner" is a particular space designed for the purpose of soothing both readers' minds and bodies with selected “mind-feeding” books. To highlight the rich collections of children's books, “Children's Literature Area” has become a unique and satisfactory experience to all readers.
The mission of Nanda Branch is to cooperate with the policies from Main Library, as well as to provide abundant resources for teachers and students in Hsinchu Teachers College and College of Arts.

Expressway (National Highway No. 1) exit at the No. 25 Hsinchu Exit(about 95 kilometers) and go straight along Guangfu Road towards Hsinchu City downtown, turn left at Shipin Road, go straight for about 5.7 kilometers to arrive at the main entrance of the Nanda Campus of NTHU . - By Bus
Expressway (National Highway No. 1) - Take the bus and get off at Hsinchu Bus Station, go straight along Nanda Road and the Nanda Campus can be reached within approximately 15 minute walk. - By Train
- Get off the train at Hsinchu Station.
