NTHU faculty, staff, students, alumni with borrowing rights, retired staff, and new graduate students that have not yet registered may access the Computer Labs for research and learning purposes with their personal IDs.
The Computer Labs opening times are identical to the opening times of the Library. The Computer Labs will be regularly closed for maintenance. The Library's main page will announce the actual date and time.
The Computer Lab is self-serviced. Patrons may reserve through the iBooking system (Newly admitted graduate students without student ID cards must borrow an Internet Card before usage).
There will be seats reserved daily for reservation on the day.
Patrons can reserve seats within the next following 14 days. Each valid ID card can only be used to reserve one type of space (which includes Discussion Rooms, Media Viewing Rooms, Moonlight Area, Computer Lab I Area and Language Learning Rooms) at any given time period. (i.e., no reservations for two spaces at the same time).
The reservation should be activated with the valid ID card. If the seat is no longer in need, please cancel the reservation 30 minutes before the reserved time.
During the reserved time, if patrons leave their seats for more than 15 minutes, the system will cancel the reservation and release the seats to other people.
The borrowing time is 30 minutes per unit, with the longest borrowing period being 4 hours. If the seat is not reserved after 4 hours, the patron may renew the borrowing period before the first reservation is up. Only one renewal is permitted.
Please retrieve your card when you leave your seat. The system permits a 15 minute absence. The user will be able to continue usage upon presenting the card. After 15 minutes, the system will release the seats to other patrons. If the patron fails to retrieve their card when they leave and someone else accesses the same computer for illegal purposes, the original patron will be responsible.
Patrons may reserve the Computer Lab through the iBooking app. If the reservation is not properly activated for 3 times within 30 days, the reservation right of the patron will be suspended for 30 days.
The Computer Classroom is mainly for Group Study use. The Library will determine whether or not to open the area of individual use.
The Computer Lab is only for resource research and academic learning use. Please do not carry out any other activity.
The software installed in the Computer Labs are legally authorized versions. It is strictly forbidden to copy unlawfully or install other softwares onto the computers. Please use the equipment in this area with care. Do not purposefully damage, steal, or alter the system without authorization.
When accessing electronic resources, please respect Intellectual Property Rights. Do not download and print copiously.
If the regulations mentioned above are violated, the library will suspend the user's rights immediately and impose punishment according to the “National Tsing Hua University Library Violation Handling Points”. Patrons are also subject to legal liability.
