Acquisition Guidelines for Purchasing Library Materialss

  1. The guidelines are established to assist in the building and management of the Library collection as well as satisfy the needs of users.
  2. The Library welcomes acquisition recommendations from University faculty, students, staff and alumni with borrowing privileges for books, journals, AV materials and electronic resources.
  3. If the recommended material is already in the Library collection, the Library will not consider purchasing another copy until ten reservations are received.
  4. You can recommend up to five items per month.
  5. The acquisition decisions to be made are depend on certain situations, such as types of material, contents and library budge.
  6. If the recommended material is from a specialized academic field, the Library will send your request to the Library Council of that academic department for review before making an acquisition decision.
  7. When the recommended material is controversial, it will be sent to the committee for reviewing recommended materials for further discussion.
The committee for reviewing recommended materials is formed by librarians under "Acquisitions and Cataloging Division" and "Service and Innovation Division", while the coordinator is the head of "Acquisitions and Cataloging Division".
