Individual Study Rooms in Main Library and HSS Branch

  • Individual Study Rooms can be used by NTHU faculty, visiting scholars, postdoctoral researchers, graduates (master and doctoral students) and senior students who have signed “The Statement of Patron's Privileges”.

  • To reserve an Individual Study Room online, please visit iBooking (Space Booking System) System.

  • Notices:
    • If an Individual Study Room is not activated on the first booking date, this reservation will be cancelled automatically and released to others.
    • Patrons should bring all their personal belongings with them before the Library’s closing time on their last booking date. Otherwise, library staff has the right to remove his/her personal items and are not liable for any loss or damage.
    • If a patron does not show up for 3 consecutive reserved dates or the accumulated absence is up to 1/3 of the reserved dates, the Library has the right to cancel this reservation and release the room.
    • Library collections are allowed in Individual Study Rooms only after being borrowed.

Individual Study Rooms in Nanda Branch

  1. NTHU master students, PhD students, and bachelor students enrolled in the “University Student Research Plan” directed by MOST are eligible to apply. Bachelor students must present the instructor’s signature and a copy of their research plan upon application.
  2. Borrowing Period: Semester 1(10/1-1/31), Semester 2(2/1-6/30), and Summer Vacation(7/1-9/30). The library will announce the actual borrowing period. Each application is for one period only.
  3. Apply before the due date announced on the library’s main page and a month before the borrowing period (for semester 1: in September; for semester 2: in January; for summer vacation: in June). Applications will still be open if there are still leftover spaces after the due date.
  4. There are a total of 18 Research Rooms.
  5. Individual Study Rooms Allocation Guidelines:
    • Senior students can apply. However, the applicants who have applied for the thesis plan will be given priority. The library will allocate according to the number of applications and the time of application.
    • Senior students who have applied for a thesis project and college students participating in the project need to be accompanied by an instructor's signature and a copy of the project application.
  6. Before you apply for a individual study room, please read carefully the Guidelines of Usage in Nanda Branch Individual Study Rooms. If violated, Nanda Branch reserves the right to end your usage of the research room and reallocate it to other applicants without contest.
